HARIO COFFEE FACTORY AEON MALL BSD CITY

Since 1921, Hario has been known as a heat-resistant hardware company, having the only company in Japan. They are focusing on producting and selling many hardware, some of them are coffee equipmeng. Scaling, termomether, grinding, they have it all. Hario is surely something that familiar for coffee-people. Moreover, having a sip of coffee from them is sounds very convincing in quality

Located in the Aeon Mall BSD City, inside the Aeon Department Store, finding this one is like a hidden gem. They are offering a nice ambiance with minimalist concept. Favorite thing of mine? Big window for the natural light for sure! Lots of coffee equipment are displayed so that you can buy it directly from them.

Manual Brew

V60 lamp. How creative!

I had myself a hot latte, cold latte, manual brew, and tea. Latte was nice but I felt like it was a bit too milky somehow. The coffee was there, but it was not on point. I do believe they're gonna make an improvement on it to make a better cup. They also brew the tea itself from their tea brewer, producing a fragrant-with-sweet-aftertaste-cup of tea. Fresh!

Craving for something sweet? They have those selection of cakes that gonna accompany your coffee, price ranging from 18-30k. quite affordable and generous in size.

Overall it was a nice coffee time at Hario Coffee Factory. Ambiance and service was nice, a little improvement for the coffee would be nice though, since Hario is well-known as a big brand itself.

Ps: their grand opening is gonna be on September 18th, please do come!

Goodluck to you. hario!

SEVEN FRIDAY SPACE PLAZA INDONESIA

Say hello to this hidden gem at Plaza Indonesia!
New restaurants are popping up, but only some of them stole my heart. Sure I'd love to dine in fancy restaurant with good decoration but the food should be the one that they highlight the most. I just gave Seven Friday a visit last week and I really thought that this corner deserve a spotlight!

Seven Friday actually is a watch brand from Switzerland. They have this store-cafe concept  which is the first one they have. The store they have here is accompanied with its restaurant which have rustic ambiance, yet still elegant. I love the grayish wall they are having! They also have all of those watches on the food menu, so you can give it a thought to buy while sitting around.

ULTIMO FRIES

ULTIMO FRIES
Had this Ultimo Fries for appetizer and I really liked it. Seasoned well, topped with tasty mushroom and cheese. The fries was not the crunchy type but somehow I liked it because it blended well with everything on the plate. It was something that anyone could not resist for sure!

SMOKY SEVEN FRIDAY BURGER
Tasty enough to be seen in the photo, this one actually was beyond my expectation. Prime beef, smoked double cut bacon, smoked jalapeno ketchup, accompanied with umami cheese and their buttery bun. The result was finger licking good burger with addicting fries as the side dish. Loving the bun they serve because it was so fluffy, blended well with cheese and the scrumptious meat inside. Totally recommended!

PORK CHOP WITH SAMBAL MATAH
Everything I have here was good, but this one was really comforting. I might be too hungry while trying this so that anything with complex carbohydrate (read: rice) would really pleased me. Pork chop was tender and beautifully seasoned, and sambal matah really enhanced the flavor and made it even better. The rice was fragrant, a good companion for the yummy pork chop.

Overall I really enjoyed all the food that I had here. I was happy to find this newly opened restaurant served good things. Price was around 35k-150k, portion was generous too! Pleased with everything on the plate, I may be back someday for their goodness they have.

BEING A SINGAPOREAN: eat local food, chill in popular cafe

Hello people!
Some of you might be knowing that I've just got hospitalized because of typhoid fever for a week. It was really torturing, the fever and stomach pain were really dominating and I just could not hold it anymore. Good thing that I am on recovery right now and I get my appetite back!

So here's the delayed Singapore post!

TASTE GOOD
Sim Lim Square, second floor

Salted egg is such a trend in Singapore and this hearty dish is one of them. Crowded was unavoidable during lunch and dinner time to taste this salted egg chicken. I had to say their salted egg chicken was very enjoyable, flavorful, simple dish that easily won my heart. They came in generous portion too! They also had this cereal chicken and sweet and sour fish, everything was good!

Five Star could be your choice to have all kind of hearty Chinese food that could easily comfort your heart. Had this salted egg pork, prawn salad (turned out to be prawn with mayonnaise), and sweet sour chicken, and did not disappointed at all. Everything was very flavorful and reminded me of honest home cook, something warmth, something tasty.

EVERYTHING WITH FRIES
Bugis Junction, 200 Victoria St, 4th floor

EwF was one popular fastfood here in Singapore. I did not usually take fast food for dinner but seeing this goodness in front of me just made me drool and could not help to try some. Fries was well-seasoned with lots of flavor selection. I had this chicken burger and it was scrumptious! Having this for 10 bucks was surely such a good deal!

KOH GRILL AND SUSHI BAR
Wisma Atria Shopping Centre, 4th floor-21
+65 9180 3805

Shiok Maki was one popular sushi roll they have here, and I could see why. Tasty rolls wrapped with grilled mentai just would not go wrong, accompanied with whatever they have inside. The sauce was being such a superstar in this dishes. They have Shiok Maki and Shiok Maki 2.0. Both were good but I prefer the original Shiok Maki. Yaki Soba was one of their favorites and it was pleasing too!

TIONG BAHRU BAKERY
#01-16B, TANGS Orchard, 310 Orchard Road
#B1-11/12, Raffles City Shopping Centre, 252 North Bridge Road
#01-70, 56 Eng Hoon Street,

This one need no introduction. This popular bakery is a must whenever I visit Singapore. My choice would go for their original kouign amman, although I would not mind to have their buttery croissant. Anything from them was nothing I could complain about. Coffee was too acid for me, but still, they had me at hello!

Iconic wall in the front, homey ambiance, friendly staffs were things to remember about Artistry. Coffee was good and the caffeine was such a kick in the heat of Haji Lane area. I found their banana cake was really tasty, sweet in right amount with a hint of coconut on top. Loved it!

Wheeler's yard with its iconic entrance was beyond my expectation. Place was really pretty and instagenic. Brunch menu was all good, from sweet potato, egg benedict, pasta, and waffle were all enjoyable. Coffee was good, ambiance was nice with all of these bicycle inside. Portion was quite small though.

Strolling through Haji Lane, visiting Garden by the bay, enjoying Singapore streets at night was a never ending fun. I never get tired visiting this country because I find gems whenever I walking around. Every corner has its own story. Tell me your favorite spot in Singapore!

HE BREWS COFFEE CORNER

Wondering around Pantai Indah Kapuk in the afternoon sometimes give me quite a decision to pick: too full for a main course yet my mouth still craving for something to munch (or drink). This problem is solved by those coffee shops, which is quite growing in quantities and qualities around PIK area. I have some of my favorites, but another addition would be nice. He Brews coffee corner is one of them.

He Brews resides in front of Happy Puppy PIK, aligned with starbucks and KAFETIA. Giving a choice to chill in this particularly new area of PIK.

Proudly present their coffee with Victoria Arduino's white eagle.

Things to love here: the ambiance of home and the natural sunlight chasing through the big window. The natural light made He Brews looked effortlessly pretty.  The good thing is, they could really an escape through thr heat of PIK ( well you know how hot thks area is) while you could enjoying the good vibe.

FLAT WHITE-40k
ICE WHITE (with ice cube/2scoops of ice cream)-45k
Coffee was nice, not too acid and not too strong. It was good but I might be think twice to come for their coffee. I also wondered the reason they charged the same price for ice white with and without ice cream.
They also have some selections for some coffee drinker. I found it thoughtful since non-coffee-drinker sometimes come to coffee shop, too!

LEMON POUND CAKE-30
Soft and fluffy with a hint of lemon. The sweetness and the sourness somehow blended well and I loved it!

Overall He Brews has its really own good ambiance, homey atmosphere, and quite an enjoyable coffee. Somehow I found their coffee was kinda pricey, though. However it could be a good choice to chill in Pantai Indah Kapuk area.

He Brews Coffee Corner
Jalan Pantai Indah Utara 2
Ruko Plaza 9AA (aligned with Starbucks PIK)
Opening hours: 8am-9pm
Closed on Tue
