Whenever friends of mine did ask for recommendation of comforting Italian food, Trattoria popped up in my mind. Some of you might knew this Italian restaurant really well. They had opened its door in Jakarta, Bali, Medan, Singapore, etc. Luckily, I got one near in my neighborhood area, in Trattoria St. Moritz West Jakarta.

Trattoria consists of two floors, dominated with grayish wall and wooden furniture, showing off its comfort atmosphere under the natural light. Quite spacious, too!

Bread basket, all of them was tasty and my favorite would be the bread stick. I could not stop munching it while waiting for my dish to come!

Their bruschetta is decent, fresh tomatoes on the top of crunchy bread. Happy to know it was part of the complimentary bread!

A glass of goodness! The banana, fresh milk, kiwi syrup, and strawberry syrup really made this serving as a good opener for the feast. It was sweet, but not the kind of overwhelmingly sweet, just the way you need, and kinda milky. It came in pretty presentation, too!

Melon, orange, and lemon. This one might suit those who prefer a pinch of sourness and a hint of sweetness on the same time. All the ingredients were fresh and I felt really healthy after having this one!

It came in pretty pink color! Turned out it was watermelon, sugar, lime, mint leave, and ginger ale inside the glass. This one had quite a strong taste on my first sip, but in a good way.

Fried seabass with black olive capers and red onion, beautified with sauteed spinach. I personally thought that this one is a heart-warming dish. I am a fan of fish as my main course, and I could say this one was not disappointing. Portion was quite generous, thick seabass with palatable seasoning.

Pocket pizza stuffed with mozzarella, mushroom, sausage and ham, and cherry tomatoes. I really liked the way mozzarella cheese glued everything inside to make it such an enjoyable bite. The pizza crust had its fit thickness too! Calzone might be a choice when you want a different kind of pizza, but still has the same goodness.

A pan of pizza with tomato, mozzarella, bacon and egg as the toppings. This one was my favorite among all dishes. Thin crispy crust with pretty good seasoning won my heart. The creamy feeling from the egg on the center boosted the flavor well!

Overall I really had an Italian feast at Trattoria St. Moritz. Comfort place, friendly staffs, and enjoyable dishes indeed. I will surely come back whenever I crave for Italian comfort food!

Japanese pastry is quite a rare finding in Jakarta. Recently I heard some of them are popping out and finally I drove to Aeon Mal to try this Japanese pastry. Lets see if this Japanese cafe worth the trip!

Del'Immo located in outdoor area, just around the food culture, Japanese foodcourt in Aeon Mal. They claimed themselves that they are the best cafe in Akasaka Japan. The place was quite spacious, have 2 storey, and dominated with red and black. It delivers the mood of luxury but somehow I feel like it did not match with Japanese cafe atmosphere.

Pretty breads on display.

Presentation is nice, but somehow I found this cup was too bitter for a latte. Latte supposed to have its milky taste which was quite dominating, right? I did not usually add any sugar in my cup, but eventually I did for this one.

They have the promotion consisted of cake/pancake plus beverage with 15k discount on the beverage.

I am quite a fan of pancake and this one surprised me. Consistency was not like another ordinary one, kinda like souffle. Turned out it was actually a souffle pancake, the kind of pancake you could find in Japan, they said. Souffle was really fluffy, thick, and enjoyable. I had mine with raspberry sauce and whipped cream, beautified by strawberry ice cream on top, and did not disappointing. However, I found it too expensive for a portion of pancake.

Chocolate cake - 60k
Chocolate cake was thick, flavorful, and had its perfect sweetness which was not overwhelming. You could find gooey filling inside, really complementing the cake.

Overall everything was enjoyable, but not my best experience of Japanese dessert. I also found the price was too expensive. If you are in the neighborhood, it could be a decent choice after all.

Pantai Indah Kapuk is widely known as one of the culinary destination, especially in North Jakarta area. They have so many selections such as bubble teas, pizzas, Chinese foods, ramen, grilled Korean BBQ, and ice cream. I did wonder once because there is no good sushi restaurants pop in this area. So happy that finally Sushi Sen opened its door in Pantai Indah Kapuk.

Sushi Sen located next to Gojira, ex-Daichi/Bobabits. They are in two storage building, dominated in wooden decoration, delivering quite a warm Japanese atmosphere. Staffs are friendly and helpful. It is not so spacious and can be a problem when you come late, because the queue may surprise you. They do not take any reservation, too!

Beautifully presented salmon sashimi with seaweed, salmon roe, and lemon for the dressing . The thickness felt so right. not too thin nor too thick. Seasoning was great, fresh and light. This one was a perfect appetizer before dipping into more delicious food of theirs!

At first I did not want to have any sushi rolls, since they are specializing in fresh sashimi. But looking at the description of their rolls seduced me to have one, so I chose for dragon roll. The portion was quite generous, with big chunks of tempura inside the roll. I amazed by how crunchy the tempura inside was very crunchy and tasty!

This one was the winner of the night!
Beautifully cooked gyudon served with onsen egg and fried garlic on top. Sauce was amazing, the beef was very tender, pleasing egg, even the fried garlic was good! Everything on the plate really enriched each other. Somehow I found that the dish came in quite small portion and I could really have it all by myself.
PS: you can add uni (70k) or foie gras (65k) on it.

Overall Sushi Sen offers a really good Japanese food in Pantai Indah Kapuk area. Everything is very enjoyable and pleasing, but somehow I found the price was quite above the average.

Yeay to me! A new coffee shop is opened at Puri Indah area, West Jakarta!

So happy that finally another coffee shop is settling down at my neighborhood area. Sometimes I have to deal with Jakarta's traffic jam to get a decent coffee, that's why knowing this new guy excite me much.

Dominated by monochrome with minimalist concept and shower d with natural light, you just gonna love it! Spacious, filled with lovely wooden furniture. Simetri Coffee resides in Puri Indah neigborhood, kembang abadi VII blok A. Some people that familiar with Puri Indah area might find it easy, while some people don't. Here is a helpful map that I got from their instagram ;)

Cereal milk latte
I found this was quite interesting. Milk with espresso and topped with corn flake was quite decent to accompany your sunny day. II recommend you to sip this quickly because the cereal would be soggy for a while. The cup came with cute presentation , anyway!

Hot latte
I just got to try my favorite latte in every coffee shop I had, and this one was quite decent. I love it that they did not have the acid after taste that I am not really fond of. An enjoyable cup with lovely presentation!

Croque madame
They have quite wide selections for brunch, and that thing pleased me a lot! Tried this croque madame and this one was beyond my expectation. Fluffy bread, generous cheese, perfect egg on top, lovely seasoning. Oh I just could not stop munching this one! Portionwise, quite generous too!

Overall everything I got here is lovely. Pretty place, friendly staffs, decent foods, and good coffee. More over this area is in the need of decent coffee shop, and Simetri Coffee is a promising one!
PS: Gonna come back here for sure!

Hello from Bali!
Well actually I just got back from Bali and still haven't moved on from my holiday. So lets just pretend I am still in Bali ☺️

Bali has sooo many restaurants, good restaurant to be exact. Cafes with pretty brunch, traditional cookings, luxurious bar, you name it. Seminyak Kitchen by Courtyard Marriot is one of them. This restaurant located in the heart of busy Bali, make it a perfect location for them.
Courtyard itself is a 5 star hotel under Marriot group. I liked the way that they have it in more causal way, the open air lobby, really suits Bali well.

Ground beef patty mixed with Worchestershire, tobasco sauce, and encrusted with cracker pepper topped with cheddar sauce, bacon, and tomato. This one surely my favorite! the beef was tender and fragrant! They came with basket of fries and homemade ketchup. I recommended you to try this goodness!

Coconut chicken curry (125k)
This is something unique!
My green curry came in really unique way, using coconut shell! Not only pretty, the green curry was quite decent too! Consistency was good, tender chicken, seasoned well. They were served with fragrant rice and sambal, and for me the portion was quite generous!

Ikan bakar seminyak (165k)
