THREE FOLKS COFFEE

Another new coffeeshop in my neighborhood, Three Folks! Finding this one might be quite hard. They are located in this cluster of shop around Meruya, near Meruya exit in Kebon Jeruk highway. The signage was not big, too. Big possibility to miss this one. Hint to find them: they are covered with all white paint!

Three Folks was not big, but they have this comfortable Japanese ambiance right away after you walked in. Their gelato was greeting you cheerfully with their quite wide selection of flavors, and the friendly staffs was quite attentive. They had those pretty ceramics and mugs for sale just in case you want to bring them home.

Zen in my cup.

I had their coffee latte and cappuccino, turned out it was not bad at all. Coffee was not that strong to give me a kick when I had my first sip, but it was tolerable. Texture was fine. I love how they used those pretty mug to deliver the caffeine. Sensing a Japanese coffee shop style here?

I heard about their Chicken nanban from some of my friends and tempted to try theirs. The presentation was drooling enough, with generous portion of rice and fragrant aroma. The chicken was deep fried and well seasoned, and the sauce was quite good. This bowl was not bad, but still, my favorite chicken nanban were those from Arasseo Jakarta and Fujin!
Wondering what Jagaimo cheese was all about, I ordered one. Turned out it was like a 'pancake' consisted of cheese and potato, homely made to give a unique taste of those combination, which could not stop me from keep digging in. Yums!

Good lighting you could find in their comfy corner.

Overall Three Folks offered one comfortable corner which served coffee, bites, and gelato. I did not give their gelato a try tho. Coffee was not bad, and the food was alright. I sensed that they were trying to serve in Japanese style coffee shop. If you happened to be in Meruya area, you can give it a try!

CALIBRATE COFFEE

Writing for this one-day-old coffee shop in Puri Indah area, West Jakarta. I am happy to announce that another coffee shop is popping up around my neighborhood: CALIBRATE coffee specialist.
So I know about Calibrate from my friend who's a fan of coffee, living in my neighborhood too. As you know coffee shop in West Jakarta is limited in quantity: Simetri, Say Something, Crematology, and Koultura. I can't be any happier to give it a try.  Lucky me, today is the first day they open for public.

Among the Jakarta heat, Calibrate offer a very good ambiance with its rustic and grayish atmosphere. I never knew blue and gray could be a good combination until I see theirs. I can say that I love the spacious coffee shop, the friendly barista (turns out I met him once at Turning Point and He Brews), the instagenic wall. They're still improving here and there during this month so to reach a perfect grand opening next month.

Don't you just love the ambiance they have?

COFFEE LATTE- IDR 37k
FLAT WHITE-IDR 37k
MOCHA-IDR 40k

Recommended by the barista, I have the Market Lane beans. I have to say I like this cup of latte. The consistency is on point, layers of milk and espresso blend in a really good way, complementing each other. This one may be my favorite cup of latte around my neighborhood at the moment.
I also have their flat white, which is very pleasing too. The mixture of steamed milk and espresso are waking me up, nudging every cells on my brain to be productive.
While their mocha is pretty enjoyable too, coffee and chocolate are very balance, both are there without any domination on one side.

Keep the coffee as your friend.

Overall I am satisfied with everything Calibrate has on their first day. I am looking forward to try their brunch menu, which is gonna be ready around their grand opening week. For now they're just serving croissant on the display. I can see Calibrate can be the next 'it' spot in Puri Indah neighborhood, Best of luck for you!

KEMANGGISAN CAFE HOPPING : KEDAI LANTE SATU AND ALL GOOD COFFEE

Coffee hopping is one of my Sunday routines with my brother. We are not an expert in coffee, but we enjoy it much. We usually head to South Jakarta area or Tangerang area to try out the new places, but this time we are exploring Kemanggisan area to fing the hidden gems. We tried to google it first and decided to visit Kedai Lante Satu and All Good Coffee.

KEDAI LANTE SATU

This thing caught me at hello. Monocrhomatic store with its minimalist and modern design caught my eye right when I had them. It was spacious, homey, and delivering its humble ambiance. I loved the atmosphere.

All in black and white.

They had some selections of coffees, teas, pastries, and main courses. I was kinda hungry when I got there so I had their rosti and sausages, which was not bad at all. It was humble and reminded me of my home cooking back at my childhood. I did not know why, but I felt that the coffee was too strong for me and I did not finish my cup. Oh I need an expert to go with me next time! Lemon pies was enjoyable, had its balance in sweet and sour with tasty buttery crust on the side. I am a big fan of buttery crust!

I am happy to find this. Will I come back? May be yes, I loved the atmosphere, the food, and the monochromatic feeling. One of my suggestion if you are around Kemanggisan area!

ALL GOOD! COFFEE

I did hear about All Good! coffee once in Wijaya street, South Jakarta, which has its tiny store when I pass the street. The one in Kemanggisan area is their second store, with convenient store on yhe first floor, and coffee shop behind it and the second floor.

The place was quite spacious, had its moody feeling from the dim light. The only source of light is a window, and I actually kinda liked it. They had a perfect atmosphere when you need your time to immerse in your good book, work, or whenever you need to be alone.

Big breakfast : sausage, egg and pancake. I did not expect any goodness from it, since the presentation is not that appetizing. But apparently, everything is tasty! Loving the pancake, even without its maple syrup or honey, I did enjoy it. However, their latte was a bit watery, kinda turned me off.

overall All good! is a good place to work, while Kedai Lante Satu may be your choice to spending time with friends.

TRATTORIA at ST. MORITZ

Whenever friends of mine did ask for recommendation of comforting Italian food, Trattoria popped up in my mind. Some of you might knew this Italian restaurant really well. They had opened its door in Jakarta, Bali, Medan, Singapore, etc. Luckily, I got one near in my neighborhood area, in Trattoria St. Moritz West Jakarta.

Trattoria consists of two floors, dominated with grayish wall and wooden furniture, showing off its comfort atmosphere under the natural light. Quite spacious, too!

Bread basket, all of them was tasty and my favorite would be the bread stick. I could not stop munching it while waiting for my dish to come!

Their bruschetta is decent, fresh tomatoes on the top of crunchy bread. Happy to know it was part of the complimentary bread!

ITALIAN FREEZE - 55K
A glass of goodness! The banana, fresh milk, kiwi syrup, and strawberry syrup really made this serving as a good opener for the feast. It was sweet, but not the kind of overwhelmingly sweet, just the way you need, and kinda milky. It came in pretty presentation, too!

MELON MEDLEY- 48K
Melon, orange, and lemon. This one might suit those who prefer a pinch of sourness and a hint of sweetness on the same time. All the ingredients were fresh and I felt really healthy after having this one!

WATER SOURMINT -55K
It came in pretty pink color! Turned out it was watermelon, sugar, lime, mint leave, and ginger ale inside the glass. This one had quite a strong taste on my first sip, but in a good way.

BRANZINO ALLA MEDITERRANEA - 145K
Fried seabass with black olive capers and red onion, beautified with sauteed spinach. I personally thought that this one is a heart-warming dish. I am a fan of fish as my main course, and I could say this one was not disappointing. Portion was quite generous, thick seabass with palatable seasoning.

CALZONE FARCITO - 91K
Pocket pizza stuffed with mozzarella, mushroom, sausage and ham, and cherry tomatoes. I really liked the way mozzarella cheese glued everything inside to make it such an enjoyable bite. The pizza crust had its fit thickness too! Calzone might be a choice when you want a different kind of pizza, but still has the same goodness.

PIZZA BISMARK - 91K
A pan of pizza with tomato, mozzarella, bacon and egg as the toppings. This one was my favorite among all dishes. Thin crispy crust with pretty good seasoning won my heart. The creamy feeling from the egg on the center boosted the flavor well!

Overall I really had an Italian feast at Trattoria St. Moritz. Comfort place, friendly staffs, and enjoyable dishes indeed. I will surely come back whenever I crave for Italian comfort food!

SIMETRI COFFEE ROASTER

Yeay to me! A new coffee shop is opened at Puri Indah area, West Jakarta!

So happy that finally another coffee shop is settling down at my neighborhood area. Sometimes I have to deal with Jakarta's traffic jam to get a decent coffee, that's why knowing this new guy excite me much.

Dominated by monochrome with minimalist concept and shower d with natural light, you just gonna love it! Spacious, filled with lovely wooden furniture. Simetri Coffee resides in Puri Indah neigborhood, kembang abadi VII blok A. Some people that familiar with Puri Indah area might find it easy, while some people don't. Here is a helpful map that I got from their instagram ;)

Cereal milk latte
I found this was quite interesting. Milk with espresso and topped with corn flake was quite decent to accompany your sunny day. II recommend you to sip this quickly because the cereal would be soggy for a while. The cup came with cute presentation , anyway!

Hot latte
I just got to try my favorite latte in every coffee shop I had, and this one was quite decent. I love it that they did not have the acid after taste that I am not really fond of. An enjoyable cup with lovely presentation!

Croque madame
They have quite wide selections for brunch, and that thing pleased me a lot! Tried this croque madame and this one was beyond my expectation. Fluffy bread, generous cheese, perfect egg on top, lovely seasoning. Oh I just could not stop munching this one! Portionwise, quite generous too!

Overall everything I got here is lovely. Pretty place, friendly staffs, decent foods, and good coffee. More over this area is in the need of decent coffee shop, and Simetri Coffee is a promising one!
PS: Gonna come back here for sure!
