Going out in Lampung can be challenging. Let's say it's a small city. Local foods are quite popular here, but new cafes are popping out here and there. I've tried some of them and I'm going to share my experiences, both childhood and recent favorites.

Cheers to local food! Might be confusing that you have to try Padang restaurant when you're in Lampung. but Begadang is still the best Padang restaurant I've ever had. Try their rendang and ayam telur, their all time favorites menu. Hint for you, ask for extra rendang sauce, they are so generous about it!

Sinfully good rendang. It's okay cholesterol, you can consult me later. :)

I believe it is everyone's favorite since they were here since I was a kid and still going strong. They are located faraway from town, near the airport. So I recommend you to pay a visit after/before your flight. The restaurant itself contains lotsa cottage where you can sit and relax enjoying your Indonesian food. I would go for gurame bumbu acar, karedok, and rajungan. Ask for their recommendation, all is good!

Pahoman is an area where most schools are residing. That's why this kind of snack is so popular among them: it brings back the memories about their good old day. It's located near Pahoman sport field. This goodness is very affordable (10k), crispy, accompanied with tasty sauce, and fulfilling. Yes, such a simple happiness!

They have several branches, I tried one located in Teluk Betung area, in Ikan Tongkol street. Most noodles in Lampung did not contain pork and served with thinly sliced and soft noodle. Their fried wonton is a good companion for their noodle!

Craving for chinese food while you're here? Go for Khuai Lok

Meaning happiness, it's surely delivers food for happy tummy. Anything is good here: fried noodle, fuyunghai, gurame with tausi tofu, you name it. Khuai Lok is surely one destination for Chinese food in Lampung. They have several branches, but the one in Radin Intan street is the best!

The most popular coffee shop in Lampung: El's coffee!

Tasty coffee, good food, comfort place, they have it all to make it popular. The staff is such a master for their menus, which is a (really) good thing. The Italian chef and his partner made those food very palatable with twist of Indonesian spices. My favorites are the spaghetti balacan and ikan asin. But I never had any bad experience-in flavor-here.

Located inside the artificial flower shop, Magnolia is quite comfy and pretty as well, Food is not bad at all, but the service is a bit slow. Snacking with sweet potato fries and end it with Kue Jadul, can be your afternoon company.

Pahoman, Bandar Lampung

The place may be small, but the flavor is not. Comfy place with flavorful bites. I would go for apple crumble, banana rolls, and for savory twist their nachos aka fried wonton is not bad at all. Happy tummy in comfy places!
